On 19 June, the roof of the Design Zentrum Hamburg was transformed into a place of lively storytelling and communal listening, exchange and relaxation: as part of the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft's Social Design Week, we invited guests to the first edition of Dach-Geschichten (Roof Stories). Under the motto ‘Creating Community’, we were able to listen to short stories written especially for the occasion by authors Lara Gahlow, Robert Hahne, Monika Mertens, Marie-Louise Schlutius und Maya Schoch with around 50 visitors.

The sun accompanied us through a unique evening full of lively storytelling – sometimes poetic, sometimes critical, always with foresight. The atmosphere was as open and warm as the topic itself: community in all its facets. Whether lyrical text, Parisian history or melancholic coming-of-age narrative – the short stories offered different perspectives on what connects people.
